Albert Pujols: Fantasy Baseball’s Newest Third Baseman
June 16th, 2011
Fantasy baseball owners waited patiently for St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa to pull the trigger. Albert Pujols had appeared in four games as a third baseman. One more appearance would give him the magical fantasy five and qualify him at that position for the rest of the season.
Fantasy owners got their wish on Wednesday night as Pujols was inserted into the starting lineup at third base. In most leagues (Yahoo! leagues are five starts), Pujols now qualifies as a third baseman.
Pujols will battle it out with Jose Bautista as the predominant third basemen in fantasy baseball.
