The Arizona Diamondbacks locked up someone they hope can turn into their ace in the future today as they signed first round pick Trevor Bauer. The Diamondbacks took Bauer with the third overall pick.
Bauer was named the Golden Spikes Award winner, Collegiate Baseball’s National Player of the Year, and Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year after posting a 13-2 record, 1.25 ERA and led the NCAA with 203 strikeouts in 16 starts this season for the UCLA Bruins.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet and Bauer will report to Class-A Visalia on Tuesday.
