Baltimore Orioles 2B Brian Roberts Doing Better
October 26th, 2011
How about some good news for Baltimore Oriole fans out there.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Orioles’ 2B Brian Roberts hasn’t experienced concussion-like symptoms in two weeks and right now he is feeling the best he has in almost six months. Roberts suffered a concussion on May 16th against the Boston Red Sox and was limited to only 39 games in 2011. The concussion was Roberts’ second in a span of eight months.
If Roberts can come back and regain any semblance of his 2005 – 2009 form in which he averaged a .294/.369/.451 slash line with 13 HR’s and 37 SB’s, then that would be a major boost to the Orioles. Roberts has only played in 98 games the last two seasons, so any production he can potentially give them in 2012 would be a plus.
Roberts has two years and $20 million left on the four-year, $40 million extension he signed back in 2009.
