In a tweet by SI.com’s Jon Heyman, the Atlanta Braves are looking for a “Zack Greinke-like return” for Jair Jurrjens. To quote Larry David when he was on the ski lift “What are you fucking nuts??”

I know there are a lot of questionable GM’s in baseball, but there is no way the Braves can expect to get a Greinke-like return for Jurrjens. Jurrjens is a nice little National League pitcher, who has done some nice things in Atlanta, but Greinke he is not.

Greinke at the time of his trade was coming off of three seasons in which he accumulated the fourth highest WAR amongst starting pitchers in baseball and a Cy Young award in 2009. Jurrjens is coming off back-to-back injury plagued seasons in Atlanta. He’s made 43 combined starts the last two seasons.

At most, the Braves have to realistically expect two mid-level prospects for Jurrjens. If they get anything more, then there is a really, really dumb GM out there.
