Projected Miami Marlins’ Lineup
December 5th, 2011
With Jose Reyes in the fold and Hanley Ramirez not going anywhere according to team President Larry Beinfest, let’s look at the Miami Marlins Opening Day lineup as currently constructed.
1. Jose Reyes, SS
2. Omar Infante, 2B
3. Hanley Ramirez, 3B
4. Mike Stanton, RF
5. Logan Morrison, LF
6. Gaby Sanchez, 1B
7. John Buck, C
8. Emilio Bonifacio, CF
That is one stacked lineup one through six. I know the Marlins are having a love fest with Albert Pujols right now, but if they don’t land him, having Sanchez in the six-spot is no joke. The guy hit 19 HR’s last year and had a .342 wOBA.
If Reyes and Ramirez stay healthy, Stanton could be potentially looking at a 120 RBI season. You know, for those of you who are into that sort of thing.
If the Marlins need anything on offense, it would be a left-handed bopper off the bench. They really don’t have that right now. Someone like Russell Branyan or Dan Johnson might make sense for them.
