Miami Marlins Offer Albert Pujols 10-Year Contract

December 6th, 2011

According to SI.com’s Jon Heyman (he will be moving to CBS Sports soon), the Miami Marlins have offered former St. Louis Cardinal first baseman Albert Pujols a 10-year contract. Heyman didn’t shed light into what the average annual value would be, 10 years is a lot of boxes of ziti to be playing out to a player who is “31-years-old.”

If this is indeed the case, the Marlins would essentially be paying for seven years of Pujols’ services. I don’t think it is realistic for him to play into his 40′s. But man, if the Marlins land Pujols, they should be scary good in 2012 and beyond.
