Introducing The “Machine Burger”
December 14th, 2011
It was only a matter of time before a local Anaheim restaurant would capitalize on the recent signing of Albert Pujols. The OC Sports Grill, which is two blocks away from Angel Stadium will now serve a “Machine Burger” on their menu. The Machine Burger being a play off of Pujols’ nickname “The Machine.”
The burger consists of a half-pound of Angus beef, a four-ounce, fried-mozzarella patty, fried onion strings, pulled pork, avocado and tomatoes. The Angus beef is a chimichurri flavored patty that gives the burger a Dominican flair. With all of these ingredients, the Machine Burger tips the scale at over 2,000 calories.
As much as I love burgers and unique burgers for that matter, I am going to stay away from this one when I go to Anaheim this spring. Every time I hear something called the “Machine,” I think of the movie 8MM. The guy who played “The Machine” in that movie freaked me out.
A Machine Burger would remind me of a guy in a leather mask with a zipper covering the mouth. Yeah, not happening.
