Poll Results: Will The Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim Win The American League West?

December 21st, 2011

A couple of days after the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim signed both Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson, we asked the question: Will the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim win the American League West? The results are in and surprisingly a little more than half of you said no.

I say surprisingly because most baseball fans like to jump on the frontrunner. However, I am not surprised the people who voted on this poll had the Angels not winning the AL West. The Baseball Index followers are some of the more intelligent baseball fans out there.

Despite their acquisitions of Pujols, Wilson, and even Chris Iannetta, I still don’t believe they are better than the Texas Rangers. The Rangers still have the more complete team. The Angels are very top heavy — especially on offense.

The Angels have Pujols, Torii Hunter, and Howie Kendick and other than those three, everyone else is a question mark. What will Vernon Wells do? Will Bobby Abreu continue his decline? Will Iannetta hit away from Coors Field? All legit questions as the Angels approach spring training.

The Rangers are still the class of the AL West and until someone knocks them off of their thrown, we have no other reason to believe otherwise.
