Los Angeles Dodgers versus San Francisco Giants 11th September 2017
Los Angeles Dodgers versus San Francisco Giants series 11th September @ Giants fantasy preview.
In this National League West match up, the first place Dodgers take on the last place Giants.
The Dodgers have been in a tailspin lately, but facing the Giants could just cure their woes.
Los Angeles is still the clear favorites in all the games, but will examine the series a little more to see if the Giants can steal a game.
- On Monday, Hyu-Jin Ryu takes the mound for the Dodgers versus Chris Stratton for the GIants. Ryu is 5-7 with a 3.59 ERA and 2-1 over the last ten. Only downfall is that he’s allowed 19 home runs in 117 2/3 innings. Stratton is 2-3 with a 4.10 ERA in nine starts. He’s been a bit wild, giving 23 walks in 41 2/3 innings.
- Kenta Maeda is on the hill for the Dodgers in the middle game of the series on Tuesday. He comes in with a record of 12-6 with a 4.02 ERA. The Giants will counter with Ty Blach with a record of 8-12 and a 4.81 ERA, allowing 171 hits in 155 1/3 innings.
- The series finale on Wednesday features Clayton Kershaw against Johnny Cueto. Kershaw struggled some in his last start, but is 16-3 with a 2.15 ERA for the season. In 151 innings, he’s struck out 182 and allowed only 109 hits. Cueto has been very mediocre this season, at 7-7 with a 4.43 ERA.
Offensively, the Dodgers have a huge edge. Justin Turner, Corey Seager and Chris Taylor all have 19 home runs and batting averages over .300. The big power sources come from Cody Bellinger (36 home runs) and Yasiel Puig (24 home runs)
The Giants are batting only .248 as a team with 114 home runs. Brandon Belt leads the team with 18 home runs. The other two players to watch are Buster Posey, batting .323 and Joe Panik, coming in at .285.
Cut to the Chase Prediction:
My money is on the Dodgers, taking the series and possibly sweeping the lowly Giants.
NB: that all statistics are for games through Friday, September 8.
