The Twins hold a clear advantage at the plate. Joe Mauer leads the team with a .306 batting average. The power comes from three main sources. Brian Dozier leads the team with 29 home runs, while Miguel Sano has hit 28 and Eddie Rosario has added 21 with a .287 batting average.

San Diego has been poor offensively all season, hitting just .234 as a team. One of their only big threats is Wil Myers, coming in with 25 home runs and 18 stolen bases. Hunter Renfroe is also worth watching, as he’s gone deep 20 times.

Cut to the Chase Prediction:

The Padres are at home, which can give them some advantage. However, the Twins are clearly the better team and should win both games so that’s my betting prediction. A split will be a major victory for the Padres.

NB: that all statistics are for games played through Friday, September 8.
