- In Friday’s match up, the Phillies will send Ben Lively to the mound versus R.A. Dickey for the Braves. Lively is 2-1 over the last four starts and is 3-6 with a 3.94 ERA for the season. The 42-year old Dickey is 9-10 with a 4.41 ERA and is 1-2 over his last four.
- On Saturday, Henderson Alvarez takes on Julio Teheran in a game that likely favors the Braves. Alvarez has appeared in only one game this season and is 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA. Teheran has a pedestrian 11-12 record with a 4.52 ERA and has allowed 30 home runs. However, he has pitched better lately, winning five of his last six decisions.
- Sunday’s series finale features Nick Pivetta for the Phillies versus Luiz Gohara for the Braves. Pivetta is 6-10 with a very high 6.57 ERA and has been hurt by the long ball, allowing 25 home runs in 122 innings pitched. Gohara is 1-2 with a 6.06 ERA in 16 1/3 innings.
