Rip-It 2015 Air, Air Elite, Senior League Bat Reviews

2015 RIP-IT Air Elite BBCOR

The 2015 RIP-IT Air Elite BBCOR is the latest iteration of the young athletic company’s Air series, corresponding with the simultaneous releases of Rip-it’s 2015 Air BBCOR and Senior League bats.

Although these three bats are not drastically different from their 2014 predecessors — weight distributions and designs are virtually identical – this bat continues to receive the same rave reviews generated after the 2014 release.

Features

  • Two-piece hybrid metal featuring an R3 alloy rifle barrel and an R3 composite handle
  • Grooved spiral on the inside of the barrel
  • -3 length to weight ratio
  • Low MOI
  • Barrel diameter of 2 ⅝”
  • Certified by BBCOR for both high school use and NCAA
  • Contact Grip

Pros

  • Perfect for batters who like a more balanced swing
  • Very consistent ball exit speed for the large barrel size
  • The spirally grooved barrel interior cancels out the generally heavier, unwieldy swing weights seen in many other aluminum bats
  • Well suited for hitters in the 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, or 9 holes
  • Perfect for those who prefer hybrid metal bats
  • Little to no sting or vibration

Cons

  • Large budget required.
  • Not ideal for hitters who prefer a single piece bat, or a lighter or end-weighted swing

  • Barrel diameter of 2 ⅝”

  • Contact grip greatly reduces vibration and sting
  • Extremely durable, especially for its price
  • R3 Alloy technology removes barrel weight without sacrificing the bat’s thickness
  • Perfect for batters on a budget
  • Spiral groove inside the barrel provides a lighter swing than the usual aluminum bat

2015 RIP-IT Air Senior League

Features

  • Comes in four editions: one drop 5, one drop 8, and two 10s
    • Drop 10: 2 ⅝” barrel and 2 ¾” barrel options
    • Drop 8 and 5: 2 ⅝” barrel option only
  • Crafted with the latest R3 alloy technology
  • -10 length to weight ratio
  • USSSA 1.15 BPF Senior Leagues certified
  • Grooved inner spiral for a lighter swing

Pros

  • Perfect for intermediate and advanced contact hitters who want great power and control behind their swings
  • Snazzy orange, white, and gray color combinations for both premium aesthetics and color coding of barrel sizes
  • Drop 8 and drop 10 versions were particularly ideal for base hitters

Cons

  • Rather on the heavier end, leading to slightly lower bat speeds despite the grooved interior

Conclusion

All three of the above bats are ideally suited for the game. Intermediate and experienced baseball players are almost guaranteed to find their perfect match amongst the 2015 RIP-IT Air series.
